The Philosophy of education and
Teaching
Every teacher has a unique way of learning and teaching affecting the
intensity of its acceptance by every pupil. The philosophy of education can be
termed as a signature of a teacher through which she leaves a positive impact
on a student at all levels. The individual philosophy of every teacher becomes
a guideline and a reference throughoutthe teaching career.
I derive my inspiration from
the quote byMaria Mont “Education is an aid to life”. I further link this to
another quote by GullaimeAppollinaise which cements my philosophy to the
methodology of teaching I pursue which is:
“Come to the edge”, he said.
‘We are afraid “, they said.
“Come to the edge”, he said.
They came……
He pushed them….and they flew…
Education is compulsory on
every person who by his natural instinct is always ready to know, learn and
implement. As an educator I believe that education undoubtedly is an aid to
life and the teacher is its facilitator effectively aiding the pupil, inspiring, motivating
and rendering a gentle push having complete faith in his abilities.
As an educator I perceive every learner as unique and special gift to a
teacher who gains immense benefits by imparting the knowledge satisfying the
needs of the learners.
This can be achieved if the
teacher possesses the quality of empathy in order to understand, teach and
counsel the learner when required.
The goal set for my learners is to implement
the education received through problem solving and critical thinking where in
their thirst for knowledge is quenched independently.
My methodology of teaching
involves setting a platform, opening the curtains and lending my hand to every
learner to step on the stage of knowledge encouraging his creativity to unleash
his potential.
My philosophy underlines the
student centric learning environment, enhancing passing of knowledge without
limitations and authoritarian models, making education a smooth transition from
generation to generation which highlights the following statement. “The right
of one is responsibility of another”
